Controls was one of my favorite undergraduate classes. We implemented PID and state space, position feedback controllers for a mass-spring-damper system, a ball on a beam, a planar VTOL and a two-rotor copter attached to a pivoting rod. We created simulations for the mass-spring-damper system, the ball on the beam and the planar VTOL. We controlled actual hardware for the two-rotor copter attached to a pivoting rod.
